This exciting package lets guests get up close and personal with our friendly Sumatran elephants while learning about their behavior and lifestyle from our experienced mahout handlers. Discover fascinating facts, such as how elephants often bask in mud during the summer to cool down, since they generate a lot of metabolic heat and lack sweat glands. Mud not only helps them stay cool but also protects their skin from sunburn, despite its tough appearance.
